Open to the public all year round since 1922, the Château de Cheverny is a wonder of historical heritage featuring stunningly well preserved interior decors and an exquisite park.
The Garden of Love features six monumental bronze sculptures around the lush and scenic pond in the castle’s park honoring life, love and family.
Marquis Charles-Antoine de Vibraye, whose family has owned the castle for over 600 years, shares: “this illustrious French-Swedish sculptor, who sadly passed away in 2017, worked with us for seven years to carry out this wonderful project. He was introduced to us by friends and the spark between Cheverny and the artist was immediate.”
This remarkable and rare undertaking showcasing monumental figurative sculpture was made possible thanks to the generosity and friendship of the Lundin and Hjelt families and Jonas and Christina af Jochnick.
The double bronze portrait of Constance and Charles-Antoine de Vibraye by Gudmar Olovson further beautifies the château’s entrance hall.
